The sequel to This is Not the Jess Show (Carey, 2021) follows Jess, now free from the set of Stuck in the 90’s, as she fights for the right to live her own life.
Having escaped from the false world of a 90's TV set, Jess has been thrust into the 2030s, complete with smartphones, self-driving cars and invisible fences. But she’s 18 now, and all she has to do is hide from Like-Life Productions until her boyfriend is also old enough to void the contract that keeps him tied to the media powerhouse. Unfortunately, real life is rarely that simple, and soon she’s dragged back into the world she just escaped.
But this time, Jess isn’t alone. Sara and Charli work with a mysterious internet group to investigate disappearances of Like-Life Productions staff. With Jess working on the inside, can they find enough evidence to put an end to Chrysalis’ empire? And if they go further in, will everyone make it back out?
